Guide River Mile ReportingUpdate packages are done on a roughly monthly basis (depending on the number of changes). The 2010 Final Edition will be issued roughly 2 weeks after the end of the river year. If you didn't bother to get your updates submitted by then, DON'T bother to send them. Snooze, You lose!
Keep track of rafting miles logged by active guides or trainees. 'Active' status generally implies that you have logged 50 or more miles as a guide in Class III or greater whitewater. Do NOT track passenger miles or kayaking miles. Do not track Class I & II private miles. For logging purposes treat the "River Year" as running from Oct. 1 thru Sept. 30 (approx. Banquet to Banquet).
If you are an Active Trainee (meaning you guided a significant portion of the whitewater), then you get full mileage credit, otherwise you get nothing. When in doubt ask the On-river Leader or the Trip Leader.
The Club trip miles are logged after being received from the Trip Leader. If the 2010 Schedule sheet indicates "Logged? = Yes" for a particular trip, that means the input has been received for all guides that were a part of that trip. It often takes a period of time to get the info, so do NOT report errors or omissions until you see "Logged? = Yes".
Do NOT report any private miles until near the end of the season, so they can be reflected in the decisions for revised Guide Ratings. The easiest way to accomplish this reporting is to use the online (for only a few entries) or for many entries, the Excel Spreadsheet or Win95 Excel Spreadsheet that was created. Please do NOT send e-mail snippets. Please do NOT call about miles either. If you need a paper log for your own records, print the River Log (PDF), but do not send them!. Make sure that there is a clear breakdown of club vs. private miles, and oar vs. paddle miles. The log you submit should be a cumulative log for the 'river year' (not piecemeal).
The following table is an alphabetical compilation of the rafting mileages and classifications that have been recorded on the BEWET trip miles logs. If you ran the river with the BEWET club, then these are the mileages that should be indicated on your personal logs submitted to the club at year end. In cases where different put-in's or take-out's were used, two or more mileages are indicated. Rivers in BOLD are generally run by the club every year.
IMPORTANT: Personal rivers logs should only reflect miles recorded as a guide (or as an active trainee)!
